Launch of a publication that, through exploratory research, developed between 2020 and March 2021, describes local initiatives in Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia to exemplify how part of the Latin American movement for Open Science responds and is transformed during the Covid pandemic -19.
The study identifies citizen initiatives that have articulated individuals, organizations, resources, knowledge, and infrastructures to design and operate solutions to immediate problems caused by the health emergency. Citizens responded promptly by building spontaneous, informal, and flexible solutions to produce efficient and positive results.
With this publication, we seek to think, from Open Science, how to overcome institutional inertia and design hybrid spaces and co-creation methods that can build more robust solutions enriched with experience in social work, flexible organizational capacity, and situated knowledge heterogeneous actors?
